Recognizing an Industry-leading Vision to Foster Rehab Care at Scale

Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, has officially secured recognition for 31 of its freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities and 19 of its contracted acute rehabilitation units, awarded by Newsweek, in this year’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers.

According to certain reports, a total of 25 states with the most facilities according to the CMS were ranked individually. The facilities from the remaining states were grouped into specific regions i.e. Northeast, Midwest, West, and South.

Talk about the whole thing on a slightly deeper level, this particular list was devised on four specific data pillars.

The first one would be quality metrics, largely concerned with data for inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The next pillar line is made up by a national online survey, which effectively quizzed experts with knowledge of physical rehabilitation centers. These experts include physicians, physiotherapists, doctors, clinic managers, and other health care professionals.

The third pillar in play covers accreditation. Here, the award effectively considers data on physical rehabilitation centers provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC).

Rounding up highlights would be the channel of Google Reviews, reviews that were included as a proxy for patient satisfaction.

Among other things, it ought to be acknowledged that, alongside running 31 freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities, each was found to aptly support the day-to-day operations and delivery of rehabilitation care, Lifepoint provides contract management support to acute rehabilitation units, operating more than 250 such units within hospitals and other therapy settings nationwide.

The company also took this opportunity to reveal how 10 of its freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities ranked first in their states or regions. These facilities include Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute in the Northeast Region, Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital in Tennessee, Community Health Rehabilitation Hospital North in Indiana, Dignity Health East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital – Chandler in Arizona, and Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital in Pennsylvania. These facilities further include Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Oklahoma City in Oklahoma, Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital St. Louis in Missouri, Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital in Texas, UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Wisconsin, and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington.

Founded in 1999, Lifepoint Health’s rise up the ranks stems from serving patients, clinicians, communities and partner organizations across the healthcare continuum. The company’s stature can also be understood once you consider it enjoys more than 50,000 dedicated employees, 62 community hospital campuses, more than 60 rehabilitation and behavioral health hospitals and 250 additional sites of care, including managed acute rehabilitation units, outpatient centers, and post-acute care facilities.

“Lifepoint Rehabilitation is proud to celebrate our freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities and acute rehabilitation units on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2025,” said Russ Bailey, president of Lifepoint Rehabilitation. “To see 31 of our facilities – representing more than 88% of our facilities that qualified for this year’s review – recognized alongside 19 of our acute rehabilitation units is remarkable. Our teams provide industry-leading care each and every day, and this recognition underscores our commitment to a patient-centered culture at every level of our organization. I couldn’t be prouder of our rehabilitation professionals across the country on this tremendous achievement.”
